Man sentenced to more than 7 years in prison for drug conspiracy

A Mexican man was sentenced to seven years and four months in prison after pleading guilty to a drug conspiracy.

PHOENIX — A Mexican man was sentenced to seven years and four months in prison after pleading guilty to a drug conspiracy, the U.S. Attorney’s Office for the District of Arizona announced Friday.

After serving the 88 months, 33-year-old German Montano-Peralta will then begin three years of supervised release.

He was part of a group that was found on April 30, 2024 with 40 kilograms of fentanyl powder and pills and in excess of 55 pounds of methamphetamine in Tucson en route to a delivery, according to authorities.

The case was part of the Organized Crime Drug Enforcement Task Forces federal initiative near the border being led by an Arizona team.

No other information was made available regarding Montano-Peralta and his crimes.
