Rep. Yassamin Ansari demands medical care for woman with cancer held at Eloy detention center
U.S. Rep. Yassamin Ansari of Arizona held a Thursday press conference to advocate for a detained woman with cancer who goes by the name Yari.

PHOENIX — U.S. Rep. Yassamin Ansari is demanding immediate medical care for an Arizona woman with cancer who was detained at the Eloy Detention Center.
The Democrat held a press conference at the U.S. Capitol to advocate on behalf of Arbella “Yari” Rodríguez Márquez, who has leukemia, on Thursday.
“Yari was diagnosed with cancer over 10 years ago and has not been able to see a specialist since she was detained in February,” Ansari said during the event.
Ansari said Márquez has been in the U.S. for 25 years, was a lawful permanent resident for two years and has no criminal record.

Ansari said she saw Márquez, who is coughing up blood and has lost 55 pounds, during a recent oversight visit she took to the detention center.
“She spoke to me in tears, begging to see an oncologist and telling me that the detention center will merely give her Tylenol and stomach ulcer medicine,” Ansari said.
After the conference, Ansari sent a letter to Acting Director of U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) Todd Lyons demanding immediate attention.
In her letter, she requested ICE to allow Márquez to visit an oncologist, as well as:
- An immediate update on Márquez’s medical care.
- Details about what ICE is doing to address her condition.
- Justification for keeping her at the Eloy Detention Center.
“I’m using my voice to demand immediate medical action for Yari,” Ansari said. “She cannot wait one more day to receive the fair and humane treatment she deserves.”

Mexico has cancer treatment centers deport her to her home country for treatment ASAP, PDQ time is of the essence. The sooner the better for her.
She's not an "immigrant" if she wanted to immigrate to the US she would have obtained her legal citizenship during the last 25 years. The same citizenship that would have afforded her protections against her upcoming deportation, instead Marquez is by definition a Mexican citizen living abroad.
To deny reality and call her a victim, a migrate or an immigrant is a collosal misuse of the English language orchestrated by U.S. Rep. Yassamin Ansari who is apparently determined to embrace and advocate every 80/20 loser left-wing cause in her public tantrum over Trump leading the nation.
The truly sad part of this entire congressional meltdown is the harsh reality that U.S. Rep. Ansari probably couldn't care less about this lady and is most likely only using her as a pawn to discredit Trump.
Truly disgusting behavior from another unhinged progressive socialist masquerading as a Democrat.
This situation sounds bad but as with most of these dems who choose to ignore Americans while advocating for illegals, she only gives a part of the story.
If Ansari (D-Mexico) wants the public to care, she needs to provide FULL information not the part that she is grand standing on. Since ansari is ultimately lying to us by omission.
