Main Street Minute: Plenty of employers to take in part in 2 job fairs
Employers are hosting two job fairs in the Valley on Thursday and a former star of the Phoenix Mercury will spend part of her day encouraging Valley schoolchildren to read.
KTAR’s Main Street Minute focuses on local businesses that are hiring, opening and hosting events across the community. These stories air each weekday on KTAR at 7:27 a.m.
• Employers will conduct on-the-spot interviews Thursday at the Phoenix Airport Marriott near 44th Street and McDowell Road from 11 a.m. until 2 p.m.
• Goodwill of Central Arizona is also holding a hiring event Thursday from 4:30 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. at Mesa High School (1630 E. Southern Avenue near Gilbert Road). More than 30 employers will be on hand.
• Former Phoenix Mercury star Penny Taylor will drop off more than 800 books to third-graders at Crockett Elementary School on Thursday morning. Taylor will also spend some time reading with the students.
