Main Street Minute: Arizona education board OKs grant for homeless students

A program for homeless students in Arizona has been approved for a grant worth over $1 million, the state Board of Education announced.

KTAR’s Main Street Minute focuses on local businesses that are hiring, opening and hosting events across the community. These stories air each weekday on KTAR at 7:27 a.m.

• The Arizona Board of Education has approved grant funding for 32 school districts and/or schools to help homeless students. The $1.2 million-plus will help around 30,000 students across the state.

• Popular Valley barbecue spot Bobby-Q is hiring for its soon-to-open Biltmore neighborhood location. The steak and barbecue joint is hosting open interviews in Phoenix and Mrestesa from Tuesday to Friday between 2 p.m. and 3 p.m. The west Phoenix site will hold interviews Tuesday, Thursday and Friday from 2 p.m. to 3 p.m.
