2nd Chance Bike Drive and Food Drive

September 1–30, 2026

KTAR News, ABC15 Arizona, and Earnhardt Auto Centers are teaming up again to help Arizona families — and this year the drive comes with a new twist. Along with collecting new and gently used bicycles, we’re also gathering nonperishable food to benefit St. Vincent de Paul (SVdP).

A bicycle can mean the difference between getting to work or missing a shift, making it to a medical appointment or going without care. And a box of food can give a family one less thing to worry about during an already difficult time. Every donation — big or small — makes a real difference.

How to Help

Donate a Bicycle Bring a new or gently used bicycle to any participating Earnhardt Auto Centers dealership listed below. SVdP’s volunteer-run Bike Shop repairs donated bikes and distributes them to people who need affordable transportation for work, school, and everyday life. Since 2020, the program has received more than 7,700 donated bikes.

Donate Nonperishable Food This year’s drive also supports SVdP’s food programs, which provided 2.5 million meals and 148,000 food boxes in 2025 alone.

Drop off unopened, shelf-stable items such as:

  • Canned proteins (tuna, chicken, beans)
  • Canned fruits and vegetables
  • Pasta, rice, and oatmeal
  • Peanut butter (in plastic jars)
  • Flour, sugar, and baking essentials
  • Breakfast cereal and cases of water

Donate Online Can’t drop off in person? Make a monetary donation at donate.stvincentdepaul.net/page/bike-drive. Just $55 covers the average cost to repair a bike, and $25 feeds a family of four for two to three days.

About the Drive

The 2nd Chance Bike Drive is a long-running community tradition. St. Vincent de Paul’s Bike Shop repairs and redistributes roughly 80 bikes every month, giving Arizona neighbors a path to greater independence.  This year’s expansion to include food donations also celebrates 75 years of Earnhardt Auto Centers and their commitment to the Valley.
