A vehicle fire blocked eastbound Interstate 10 in central Phoenix after a crash, authorities said.

The crash occurred near I-10 and the State Route 51 interchange just after 16th Street, according to the Arizona Department of Public Safety.

The debris forced a backup on the freeway, as the Arizona Department of Transportation said the fire “temporarily stopped traffic.”

DPS confirmed there were unknown injuries as a result of the crash, and the roadway had since reopened.
