US 60 reopens in far East Valley after police investigate death
The US 60 reopened in Apache Junction near Gold Canyon after closing for a death investigation on Tuesday afternoon, authorities said.

PHOENIX — The US 60 reopened in Apache Junction near Gold Canyon after closing for a death investigation on Tuesday afternoon, authorities said.
A law enforcement situation caused both directions of the highway to close between Mountain View Road and Superstition Mountain Drive around 3:05 p.m., according to the Arizona Department of Transportation (ADOT). The Mesa Police Department is in charge of investigating the scene.
“We have confirmed that this is not an officer-involved shooting,” Mesa Police Department spokesperson Detective Jose Aguirre told KTAR News 92.3 FM. “However, we are conducting a death investigation, and our homicide unit will be on scene.”
The eastbound lanes reopened around 5:35 p.m., according to ADOT. All lanes were open by 8:30 p.m.

Why would they need 2 armed SWAT teams if it was a "death investigation"? Along with helicopters and 40+ cop cars and undercovers?? 🤔🤔🤔 Or was I hallucinating all of that as they passed us on the highway!?
No idea, I heard all the sirens but didn't think much of it at the time.
