WB US 60/Grand Avenue reopens after fatal collision in Glendale

A portion of US 60/Grand Avenue in Glendale has reopened after a fatal crash closed it for several hours Monday morning.

US 60/Grand Avenue in Glendale has reopened after a fatal crash closed it for several hours Monday morning, authorities said.

The westbound lanes were blocked at Myrtle Avenue, just north of Glendale Avenue, according to the Arizona Department of Transportation.

Officers responded to the area around 4 a.m. and found an unresponsive woman lying in the roadway, according to the Glendale Police Department. She died after being taken to a hospital.

Video evidence indicates that the woman was struck by a vehicle in the intersection and then hit by two other vehicles, police said. None of the vehicles remained at the scene, and it’s unclear if the drivers were aware of what happened.

ADOT announced that the roadway had reopened around 9:15 a.m.
