Driver shot in leg in possible road rage incident on Phoenix freeway

PHOENIX — A driver was shot in the leg on a Phoenix freeway Wednesday morning in what authorities said was a possible road rage incident.

The shooting occurred around 10 a.m. in the eastbound lanes of Interstate 10 near 43rd Avenue in Phoenix, according to the Arizona Department of Public Safety.

Troopers responded to the scene and provided the victim with medical assistance to the injured driver before he was taken to a hospital.

DPS didn’t provide any information about a possible suspect.

Traffic in the area was impacted for several hours while investigators were at the scene.
