2 crashes delay morning commute on Loop 303 in northwest Valley

Two collisions delayed traffic on northbound Loop 303 in the northwest Valley on Tuesday morning.

PHOENIX – Two collisions delayed traffic on northbound Loop 303 in the northwest Valley on Tuesday morning.

The first incident involved a bucket work truck and two other vehicles near Happy Valley Road.

A worker was in the bucket at the time of the crash but was not hurt, according to the Arizona Department of Public Safety. The mainline freeway was cleared at the crash site by 6:30 a.m.

The second collision occurred in the backup of the initial incident near El Mirage Road.

It involved four vehicles and resulted in unspecified injuries, DPS said. Multiple lanes of northbound Loop 303 were blocked for several hours, but the roadway was cleared before 8:40 a.m.
