Part of Interstate 17 closed temporarily after hay truck fire north of Phoenix area
A portion of Interstate 17 north of the Phoenix area was closed temporarily after a trailer hauling hay caught fire on Tuesday.

PHOENIX – A portion of Interstate 17 north of the Phoenix area was closed temporarily after a trailer hauling hay caught fire on Tuesday, authorities said.
The closure of northbound I-17 at milepost 272, north of Cordes Lakes, began before 11 a.m. and lasted less than an hour, according to the Arizona Department of Transportation.
The freeway was closed to let firefighters reach the scene, the Arizona Department of Public Safety said.
Nobody was injured during the incident, which started as a tire fire and spread to the hay.
Cordes Lakes is about 66 miles north of downtown Phoenix.
