Part of westbound Interstate 10 in the West Valley is closed for the investigation and cleanup of a multivehicle collision Thursday morning, authorities said.
The crash site is near the Fairway Drive exit in Avondale, according to the Arizona Department of Transportation.
Traffic is forced to exit westbound I-10 at Fairway Drive, between Avondale Boulevard and Dysart Road, during the closure.
The Arizona Department of Public Safety said the collision occurred about 5:40 a.m. and resulted in injuries.
Eastbound I-10 is not affected by the crash.
There was no estimate for how long westbound traffic would be forced to detour.
