PHOENIX – A major Phoenix surface street was closed near Interstate 17 on Monday morning after a rollover crash involving a police vehicle, authorities said.
Bethany Home Road was closed in both directions between 23rd Avenue and I-17, according to the Maricopa County Department of Transportation.
Additionally, the northbound I-17 off-ramp at Bethany Home Road was closed while the crash site was under investigation. Motorists were advised to avoid the area.
What did police say about crash involving patrol vehicle?
A patrol Tahoe rolled over at least once during the two-vehicle collision, which occurred just before 7 a.m., according to the Phoenix Police Department.
An officer was taken to a hospital as a precaution afterward.
Nobody in the other vehicle, which remained at the scene, was injured.
