With the company’s future trajectory squarely centered in Arizona, Taiwan Semiconductor Manufacturing Co. saw its shares rise sharply on Thursday after it released its latest record-breaking financial results that emphasize its commitment to fueling an AI-driven global economy.

Before U.S. markets opened on Thursday, TSMC (NYSE: TSM) reported that it saw Q4 profits leap by 35%, driven by surging sales within its so-called high computing division in which its high-end chips for AI and 5G applications are produced for clients such as Nvidia and AMD. TSMC also makes the ubiquitous chips found in Apple iPhones.

The company’s financial performance easily surpassed Wall Street expectations, yet again, with a net profit of $505.7 billion New Taiwan dollars ($16.02 billion USD), ahead of analysts’ estimates of just over $469 billion NTD.

As semiconductor makers continually cram more performance into the thinnest chips possible, TSMC reported that its advanced 7-nanometer or smaller chips comprised 77% of total wafer revenue during Q4; projected across the full year for 2025, those chips accounted for 74% of revenue, up about 5% from a year earlier.
