Upcoming electric vehicle showcase gives Phoenix drivers chance to try EVs
Phoenix drivers who haven't yet felt the difference between a gas and electric vehicle can at a showcase on April 19 at South Mountain Community College.

PHOENIX — Want to feel the difference between a gas and electric vehicle? Just stop by South Mountain Community College for the second annual DRIVE Electric Earth Month EV Ride and Drive on April 19.
It’s an event that showcases the differences and potential benefits for those new to EVs by letting them drive or ride in one over a 4-mile local route.
The owners who volunteered their cars and trucks for the event, which runs from 8 a.m. to noon, will be available as advocates and to answer any questions.
Interested drivers can RSVP for the free event ahead of time.
Phoenix event is part of annual electric vehicle campaign
Drive Electric Earth Month is a national campaign held each April to promote electric vehicles.
The city of Phoenix, Salt River Project, Valley of the Sun EVA and Valley of the Sun Clean Cities Coalition are helping out with the event at South Mountain Community College, which is located near 24th Street and Baseline Road.
The city of Phoenix has a goal of reducing greenhouse gas emissions by 50% by 2030 and to net-zero by 2050. EVs can help the city get closer as they have no tailpipe emissions and reduce the demand for fossil fuels.

Elon won't even allow current owners of Cybertrucks to trade them in at a Tesla dealership because there is such a backlog of unsold units.
Yeah sure, I'll be first in line to purchase a toy electric car. After 4 years with disaster Joe in the WH and his administration attempting to push EV's on consumers, those same consumers ignoring them, it appears that still don't get the fact that we're not interested in their electric cars.
They think EV's are the way of the future, yea, the distant future but not right now. It's a huge failure which many are unwilling to admit. Automakers have lost billions.
They talk about reducing fossil fuel use but ignore all the fossil fuel needed to manufacture and ship the cars. They also produce more pollution from tire wear due to being extremely heavy.
