PHOENIX — Burger restaurant chain The Melt plans to open its second Arizona location on July 17 as it continues expanding beyond California.
Free MeltBurgers will be available to the first 100 guests at the new Tempe location’s grand opening, and other prizes will be announced that day.
MeltBurgers are the chain’s signature item, covering a combination of Angus and Wagyu beef with aged cheddar melted on during grilling. Using all-natural ingredients for each of its items, the chain also offers grilled melts, chicken sandwiches, mac and cheese, shakes and skin-on fries.
The Tempe location will reside within the Novus Place entertainment district near Arizona State University.
Where are there other The Melt restaurants?
The chain recently made its Valley debut at the PV mixed-use development in Phoenix.
The Melt has 16 locations listed in California, and the two in Arizona are the first in expanding outside its home state. More Valley locations are expected to come.
“Expanding our footprint in the greater Phoenix area with a second restaurant is an exciting milestone as we continue growing The Melt in vibrant, fast-growing markets,” CEO Ralph Bower said in a release. “Tempe’s dynamic college town atmosphere and diverse, food-savvy population make it a perfect match for our bold, melty menu, and we’re eager to become a go-to community dining destination for many years to come.”
