Mr. Charlie’s Told Me So, a plant-based quick-serve restaurant with branding and marketing that is reminiscent of McDonald’s, has plans to open multiple stores in the Phoenix area and across Arizona.
The chain, which is based out of Los Angeles, announced May 13 it has signed a “multimillion-dollar development agreement” to open 18 locations across Arizona with investor Patrick Lam serving as the exclusive area developer for the Grand Canyon State.
Mr. Charlie’s menu is completely plant-based and features items like “Not a Cheeseburger,” “Not a Chicken Sandwich,” and the “Frowny Meal,” which includes plant-based burger, plant-based chicken nuggets, fries and a drink. It also serves plant-based ice cream and breakfast sandwiches.
The first Arizona Mr. Charlie’s location is slated to open in Scottsdale later this year.

''Fake, unhealthy food...yum!''
Said NO ONE.
Given all the negativity surrounding McDonald's reported use of "additives" one can only wonder if there's any room in McDonald's products for animal based proteins?
I'm not normally one to order off of the vegetarian menu at a steakhouse. I want real food as the main course with a side of veggies.
I'm guessing neither of these two fine dining establishments will be profiting from my future patronage.
Avoiding animal fat can be beneficial because it reduces intake of saturated fats, which are linked to higher LDL cholesterol levels and increased risk of heart disease. Additionally, plant-based fats (like those from avocados, nuts, and olive oil) provide healthier unsaturated fats that can help lower cholesterol and reduce inflammation.
Can’t wait to try!
