Burglar couple steals from Scottsdale eatery, deflowers their rose-themed photo opp

PHOENIX — Police are searching for a man and woman accused of burglarizing and desecrating a Scottsdale restaurant on Saturday morning.

“Two love birds broke into our restaurant in Scottsdale this morning,” a Saturday social media post from Mon Chéri Restaurant said. “Does anyone recognize them?”

Mon Chéri Restaurant, which is known for pink-colored food and floral decorations, is located near Indian School Road and Goldwater Boulevard.

Lexi Caliskan, the restaurant’s owner, told People that the duo stole $450 in cash, a bottle of Bacardi and the restaurant’s iPhone.

To add insult to injury, the couple allegedly had sex inside a rose display designed for guests to take Instagram photos.

“Help,” the Instagram post reads. “They violated our roses.”

The Scottsdale Police Department told KTAR News 92.3 FM that the investigation is ongoing.
