PHOENIX — Blue Sushi Sake Grill has expanded to Surprise after opening a Tempe location in January.
The new restaurant, located at the open-air Village at Prasada near the Loop 303 between Cactus and Waddell roads, is now open and offers diners a wide assortment of sushi while focusing on sustainability.
Every item on the restaurant’s menu includes sourcing details to offer transparency, such as the Tilapia from Indonesia, the Skipjack Tuna from Japan and the Blue Crab from Nicaragua.
The restaurant also boasts one of the most extensive vegan sushi menus in the nation, featuring more than 15 maki rolls, plant-based nigiri, the Kaluna Crispy Rice Cake and Tofu Lettuce Wraps.
What drinks are offered at Blue Sushi Sake Grill?
Blue Sushi Sake Grill also offers an expansive cocktail menu, including the Kokuto Whiskey, created with Legent Bourbon, Japanese black sugar and sansho-infused bitters; the White Peach Daiquiri, featuring Bacardi Rum, white peach, lime, sparkling peach sake and peach boba; and the Hapa Highball, crafted with a mix of Toki Japanese Whisky, pineapple, yuzu and bubbles. A wide selection of sake, Japanese whisky, zero-proof libations, beer and wine are also available.
The interior design of the restaurant draws inspiration from Japan but with an American perspective. For example, a Godzilla collage sits in the lounge area and red lantern clouds inspired by carts found in the Tokyo fish markets adorn the dining room.
The restaurant will be open Monday through Thursday from 11 a.m. to 10 p.m., on Friday and Saturday from 11 a.m. to 11 p.m. and on Sunday from noon to 9 p.m.
Blue Sushi Sake Grill originally launched in Omaha, Nebraska, in 2002 and now has locations across the United States.
