Babbo Italian Eatery set to unveil expansion at original location in Glendale

PHOENIX — Babbo Italian Eatery is to set unveil the expansion of its original location in Glendale with a grand opening on Thursday.

The restaurant, located off of 67th Avenue and Beardsley Road, only had 22 seats and had a bring-your-own-bottle policy for customers when it originally opened in 2002.

“This expansion is deeply meaningful to our family,” Babbo Italian Eatery Owner Charlotte Pollack said in a press release. “Babbo Arrowhead is where our story began. This project honors our roots, and my late husband Ken who founded Babbo, while also creating space to better serve our community in new ways.”

Details on Babbo Italian Eatery’s expansion

With the upgrades, the restaurant is now 5,000 square feet and features a private dining room, expanded bar, wine wall and updated patio.

The eatery’s kitchen was redesigned in collaboration with Babbo’s culinary team and now has a pizza oven, improved prep areas and expanded storage.

As part of the expansion, a To-Go Market was also created where customers can purchase freshly prepared charcuterie boards, lasagna, salads, gelato, house-made marinara sauces, salad dressings, beer and wine to take home with them.

The grand opening of the expanded restaurant coincides with Pancreatic Cancer Awareness Month, which is a cause that has impacted the Babbo family. In fact, the restaurant supports the fight against pancreatic cancer through multiple events including its annual “Baseball for Babbo” fundraiser in honor of its founder Ken Pollack.
