Sheriff Joe Arpaio to speak on final night of Republican National Convention

PHOENIX — Maricopa County Sheriff Joe Arpaio will be one of the featured speakers Thursday night, the finale of the Republican National Convention in Cleveland.

GOP presidential choice Donald Trump will formally accept his party’s nomination later in the evening.

Arpaio has been an ardent supporter of Trump for some time.

Trump and Arpaio have struck up a mutual admiration society: They share similar views on immigration. Arpaio, one of Arizona’s 58 delegates at the event, has said he was there because “My mission is to get Trump elected.”
