Donald Trump chosen Time magazine’s Person of Year

Time magazine named President-elect Donald Trump its Person of the Year.

The billionaire’s selection was announced Wednesday morning on NBC’s “Today” show.

The Manhattan real estate magnate went from fiery underdog to win the White House over Democrat Hillary Clinton.

In a telephone interview to the show, Trump called it “a great honor.”

The 70-year-old New Yorker won the Electoral College vote, while Clinton won the popular vote.

Magazine managing editor Nancy Gibbs said Clinton was runner-up.

Previous selections include Mahatma Gandhi, Presidents Franklin D. Roosevelt, Ronald Reagan, Bill Clinton and Barack Obama and Amazon.com founder Jeff Bezos.

Trump joined the show and talked about many topics.
