PHOENIX — A wrong-way driver was killed and another driver was injured in the early hours Friday on a Phoenix-area freeway.
The southbound Loop 101 in Scottsdale was closed at Frank Lloyd Wright Boulevard for the investigation. The male driver smashed into another car shortly after midnight.
“The collision was a head-on, but kind of an offset head-on,” Arizona Department of Public Safety spokesman Quentin Mehr said.

Cost more than its worth? A life isn't worth the cost?
Bad idea. That's a knee jerk idea if I ever heard one. A short term temp fix that will cost more than it's worth in the long run.
I wish ADOT would stop FN around with this problem. They don't need the high tech and expensive solution they are currently proposing. Install anti back up spikes on off ramps.
