Woman hospitalized in critical condition after hit-and-run crash in Tempe

A woman is in critical condition after being hit by a car in Tempe on Friday night, authorities said.

The woman was hit by a car while crossing the street against the light near Baseline Road and 48th Street around 10:45 p.m., according to the Tempe Police Department.

Following the crash, the car fled the area.

The woman was taken to a nearby hospital with life-threatening injuries.

The driver involved in the crash has not been located, police said.
