A woman was hospitalized after she was hit by a train in west Phoenix on Saturday morning, authorities said.

PHOENIX — A woman was hospitalized after she was hit by a train in west Phoenix on Saturday morning, authorities said.
The woman was struck in the area of 27th Avenue and Thomas Road just after 9 a.m., according to the Phoenix Police Department.
The Phoenix Fire Department took the woman to a nearby hospital with life-threatening injuries.
The train remained at the scene. Detectives are investigating what led to the collision and collecting evidence, police said.

If only there was some way to let people know in advance exactly which direction the train was going to travel -- like maybe metal rails on the ground or something
