Woman dies at hospital after being pulled from Phoenix mobile home fire

A woman who was taken to a hospital after being pulled from a mobile home fire in west Phoenix on Wednesday night has died, fire officials said.

Crews responded to a blaze in the area of 39th Avenue and Van Buren Street around 8 p.m., according to the Phoenix Fire Department.

Upon arrival, firefighters found heavy smoke and fire coming from an RV trailer and began efforts to extinguish it while also searching inside for any residents.

Crews pulled a woman out of the RV and provided her with lifesaving measures before she was taken to a nearby hospital in extremely critical condition. The woman, whose name was not released, did not survive her injuries, the fire department announced Thursday.

Two other patients were evaluated at the scene for smoke inhalation but did not want to go to the hospital.

The cause of the mobile home fire is under investigation.
