Winter temperatures expected to return to the Valley this week

PHOENIX — Hopefully everyone enjoyed perfect weather this weekend in the Valley because the chilly temperatures are making a return this week.

After the high temperatures got into the 70s on Saturday and Sunday, the high on Monday is only expected to reach 63 degrees with a slight chance of rain and breezy conditions.

The next three days don’t provide much relief either, with the high on Tuesday and Wednesday only expected to hit the mid-50s before going back up to the low-60s on Thursday.

Heaters will need to be turned back on this week with low temperatures expected to be in the mid-30s from Monday through Wednesday and freeze watches in effect for overnight Monday and Tuesday.

Hope is on the way, however.

The high Friday is expected to reach the high-60s and continue to warm up over the weekend and reach the mid-70s on Saturday.

In addition, Pennsylvania’s most famous groundhog Punxsutawney Phil didn’t see his shadow on Groundhog Day on Sunday, signaling spring will come early this year.
