Dec 30, 2024, 2:00 PM

PHOENIX — A winning Arizona lottery ticket will make one player $1 million richer after Friday’s Mega Millions drawing.

The player bought the seven-figure ticket at the Fry’s Fuel Center at 8260 S. Houghton Road in Tucson.

The five winning numbers were 3, 7, 37, 49 and 55, with a Mega Ball of 6.

The $1 million Arizona prize came from the same drawing were a ticket in California won the $1.22 billion Mega Millions jackpot.

The $1 million prize hasn’t been claimed as of Monday morning, officials said.

The Mega Millions jackpot will be worth an estimated $20 million for the next drawing on Tuesday.

Winning Arizona lottery ticket worth $1 million sells in Tucson

Mega Millions is a twice-weekly game of chance sanctioned in 45 states; Washington, D.C.; and the U.S. Virgin Islands. Tickets, which cost $2 per entry, are available at more than 3,000 Arizona Lottery retailers across the state.

However, ticket prices will rise to $5 in April.

Drawings are held Tuesday and Friday nights.

Another lucky Arizonan won the Powerball drawing

The other major national lottery game, Powerball, also brought home a huge cash prize for someone in the Grand Canyon state last weekend.

Another lucky Arizonan bought a winning $50,000 Powerball ticket at a Fry’s Fuel Center near Thomas and Hayden roads in Scottsdale for Saturday’s drawings.

The ticket matched four of the five white numbers drawn — 6, 31, 51, 54 and 55 — plus the red Powerball of 12.

Powerball drawings are held Mondays, Wednesdays and Saturdays.

However, this Powerball prize also went unclaimed as of Monday, according to Arizona Lottery.
