Missing West Valley man found dead 1 day after Silver Alert was issued

A West Valley man who went missing last week, prompting a Silver Alert, was found dead Tuesday morning, authorities said.

PHOENIX – A West Valley man who went missing last week, prompting a Silver Alert, was found dead Tuesday morning, authorities said.

The family of Richard Guy, 68, reported him missing on Thursday, according to the Buckeye Police Department. At the time, he was last seen Aug. 18 at his home near Van Buren Street and Sundance Parkway.

Guy’s car was located about 10 miles from his residence in a private lot near Miller Road and Sunrise Drive on Monday.

Authorities then launched a search and issued a Silver Alert. Off-road vehicles, drones and cadaver dogs were used to search the area where his car was abandoned.

The missing West Valley man’s decomposing body was found before 6:30 a.m. Tuesday in a desert area about 200 yards from his car, police said.

He was a well known heroin/fentanyl addict, he needed help, his family didn't care until authorities started looking for him on a warrant. Shame on them

Hopefully Richard Guy is safely found and quickly reunited with his family.
