PHOENIX – “Weird Al” Yankovic is returning to the Valley next year, this time coming with a full orchestra, a big production and all of his hits.

The Grammy-winning, accordion-playing song parodist is bringing his Strings Attached tour to Comerica Theatre in downtown Phoenix on Aug. 3. Showtime is 8 p.m.

Tickets go on sale to the general public Saturday at 10 a.m.

Yankovic’s last visit to the Phoenix area was in May at the Mesa Arts Center.

It was a scaled-back show featuring mostly original songs and deep cuts. He limited the parodies that made him famous – including “Eat It,” “Amish Paradise” and “Like a Surgeon” – to a single medley.

The Strings Attached tour, which includes more than 60 shows in North American and kicks off June 5 in Clearwater, Florida, promises a return to Yankovic’s over-the-top comic performance style, with a twist.

“Weird Al” and his band will hit the road with a full symphony orchestra and backup singers for the first time. The shows also will include plenty of costumes and props plus a video wall.

Yankovic has sold more albums than any other comedy act in history, and his last release, 2014’s “Mandatory Fun,” was the first comedy album to debut at No. 1 on the Billboard Top 200 chart.
