Weekend drivers face closures on Loop 101 in north Phoenix

PHOENIX – Weekend drivers will face closures on the Loop 101 Pima Freeway in north Phoenix and restrictions on the Loop 202 Santan Freeway in Chandler, according to the Arizona Department of Transportation.

The eastbound Loop 101 freeway will be closed between Seventh Street and State Route 51 from 10 p.m. Friday to 5 a.m. Monday for a widening project. The eastbound Loop 101 on-ramp will also be closed at Seventh Avenue.

In Chandler, the westbound Loop 202 will be narrowed to one lane between Price Road and Kyrene Road on Saturday from 6 a.m. to 8 p.m. for installation of permanent lane striping. The westbound Loop 202 HOV lane ramp to northbound Loop 101 will also be closed during that time.

Expect closures on both the L-101 (Price) and Central Avenue in Phoenix this weekend.

Finally, Central Avenue will be closed in both directions at Interstate 17 in south Phoenix on Saturday from 5 a.m. to 5 p.m. for a bridge improvement project.
