WalletHub: Arizona ranks middle of pack in credit card debt

PHOENIX — Arizonans aren’t too far off from the national average in terms of credit card debt.

According to a study by WalletHub, Arizona ranks No. 19 out of 50 states and the District of Columbia in terms of said credit card debt.

However, the actual figures of Arizona’s debt situation show that it is closer to the low end of states with credit issues as opposed to the high end.

The median credit card debt for Arizonans was listed as $2,686, which is much closer to the low end rather than the high end. The highest was Alaska with a median debt of $4,144 and the lowest was Iowa with a median debt of $2,091.

Alaska also had the highest cost to pay off as well as how long it takes until debt is paid off at $575 per month, and 19 months and 11 days, respectively.

Arizona’s figures were $262 per month, with a payoff time of 13 months and 17 days.

Indiana had the lowest cost to pay off at $167 per month and the least amount of months, and days at 9 months and 29 days.
