Virtual public meeting to be held Thursday for ADOT Electric Vehicle Plan

PHOENIX — The public is invited to attend a virtual meeting on Thursday to give input and hear more about the Electric Vehicle Plan the Arizona Department of Transportation has prepared, officials said.

The meeting, which is scheduled from 6-7:30 p.m., was created in response to the funding available from the Infrastructure Investments and Jobs Act to make electric vehicle chargers along alternative fuel corridors accessible to the public, ADOT said in a press release.

If the plan is approved, about $76 million in funding will be available over the next five years to begin work on the project.

An initial plan will be submitted in August and updated annually as other fuel corridors are added and charging stations identified, the release said.

Those unable to attend can find the meeting recorded and posted to the ADOT Electric Vehicle Plan website.

A survey is also available to aid in the development of the statewide plan.
