Video shows arsonist lowering himself into Phoenix restaurant

PHOENIX — Phoenix police are looking for a suspect who lowered himself into a restaurant Wednesday before setting it on fire.

Police said the man used a “thin strap” to enter La Carreta De Lily Restaurant near 29th Avenue and Van Buren Street through its roof vent around midnight.

He reportedly took several items before starting a fire in the back of the building and fleeing.

Police said he was wearing light-colored sweatpants, a light-colored hoodie and a backpack with a Nike logo on the back.

Anyone with information on the incident was asked to call Silent Witness at 480-WITNESS or 480-TESTIGO.
