Valley finishes 2019 with most rainfall since 2010

The Valley closed out the decade with the most rainfall since 2010. According to the National Weather Service, the area saw 9.80 inches throughout the year.

PHOENIX – The Valley closed out the decade with the most rainfall since 2010.

According to the National Weather Service, the area saw 9.80 inches of rain throughout the year.

The wettest month came in February with 2.39 inches coming down.

However, Phoenix saw less rain than normal. The gauge at Sky Harbor International Airport recorded a total of 5.93 inches, which is 2.07 inches below average for the area.

To end 2019, the Valley had one of the wettest Decembers since 2016 with 1.31 inches.

It also marked the first time Arizona had a wet Christmas Day since 2008.
