Valley dad launches site to encourage kids to do chores

PHOENIX — A Queen Creek dad is making it easier for parents to assign chores to their kids in a fun and educational way.
Gregg Murset created the free website, myjobchart.com, after he and his wife tried to assign chores to their six children.
Murset decided on a points system to teach his children to both do chores and spend their “money” (points are redeemable) smartly.
“A family would create a profile for each one of their kids and assign chores to them,” Murset said. “Then the kids would do their chores and earn points and then they use those point to do three things: they save them, they share them or they spend them.”
Murset said he believed the website would help manage his family, but now it has over 250,000 members.
The site also benefits from school endorsements, which in return receive a small financial boost from the site to improve programs.
