US 60 in Peoria reopens following deadly crash

PHOENIX — The US 60 freeway in Peoria has reopened following a crash that killed a motorcyclist on Sunday, authorities said.

Around 7 a.m., police responded to a crash involving a motorcycle and another vehicle near Grand and Peoria avenues, according to the Peoria Police Department.

Upon arrival, officers found motorcyclist Michael Anthony Bianco, 70, with injuries. He was taken to a hospital, where he later died due to his injuries.

Impairment is not suspected to be a factor in the crash, police said. An investigation remains ongoing.

US 60 crash causes closure

Around 7:45 a.m., westbound lanes closed at 83rd Avenue, while eastbound lanes closed at 85th Avenue due to the crash, according to the Arizona Department of Transportation.

The freeway reopened around noon.
