Valley man who sent child sex videos to undercover officer gets 15-year sentence

PHOENIX – A Valley man who sent child sexual abuse material to an undercover officer was sentenced to 15 years in prison, authorities announced Monday.

Anthony Whyte also was ordered to undergo lifetime probation as a sex offender upon his release during his April 6 sentencing hearing, according to the Arizona Attorney General’s Office.

Whyte was arrested in December 2024 after sending four videos with child sexual abuse material to an undercover officer through a chat app.

Investigators found additional child sexual abuse material on a thumb drive at his home.

Whyte was indicted on 14 charges, including 13 for child sex crimes. In March of this year, he pleaded guilty to three counts of attempted sexual exploitation of a minor and one count of dangerous crimes against children.

The investigation into the case was a partnership between the Arizona Attorney General’s Office and the Chandler Police Department.
