Two injured after small aircraft crashes in Buckeye

PHOENIX — Two people were injured after a small plane crashed near Sun Valley Parkway in Buckeye on Monday, according to the Buckeye Fire Department.

According to Bob Costello, fire chief with the Buckeye Fire-Medical-Rescue Department, two unidentified people suffered injuries and were transported to local hospitals. The extent of their injuries was not immediately known.

The crash was reported around 4:15 p.m. near 18600 N. Sun Valley Parkway, a construction area of the Sun City Festival, according to Costello. The cause of the crash is unknown.

The plane was a single-engine Nanchang China CJ-6 with a tail number of N8NW was flying from Las Vegas to Goodyear when it crashed.

Additional information was unavailable. The FAA is investigating the crash.
