Just about everyone understands the importance of a college education, as the more educated you are, the greater access you have to better job opportunities with more rewarding salaries.  But just how much does location affect the quality of opportunities at your fingertips?

Using nine separate metrics pertaining to “Education Level” and “Quality of Education & Attainment Gap,” the personal finance resource website WalletHub.com has that answer, recently compiling a ranking of the most and least educated cities in the United States for 2015.

In their comparison of 150 major U.S. metropolitan areas, two Arizona cities made an appearance on the list, ranking within or just outside the upper half of the site’s overall rankings.

Ranking 51st overall, Tucson checks in as the Grand Canyon State’s most educated city.  With an Education Level ranking of 54 overall, Tucson received a nice boost in the “Quality of Education & Attainment Gap” category, coming in at 38th nationally.

The Phoenix-Mesa-Scottsdale metro area was one spot removed from ranking in the upper half of WalletHub’s list of the 150, listed as the 76th most educated city in the country.  The Valley’s Education Level and Quality of Education & Attainment Gap ranking checked in at 78th and 86th, respectively.
