Arizona man sentenced to 40 years for sexually exploiting children

A Tucson man who sexually exploited children and created media of them being abused has been sentenced to 40 years in prison, authorities announced Thursday.

A U.S. district judge handed down the sentence to 36-year-old Nathan Dean Hinte last week, according to the U.S. Attorney’s Office for the District of Arizona.

Hinte previously pleaded guilty to two counts of producing child sexual abuse material. He admitted that he had used his cellphone to create videos and images of the victims being sexually exploited in March and August of 2024, prosecutors said.

Two of his victims were under the age of 12.

Hinte also admitted to accessing content of children being sexually exploited online and sharing at least one of the images he created with another person over the internet.

District of Arizona U.S. Attorney Timothy Courchaine commended Homeland Security Investigations for uncovering the abuse.

“This 40-year sentence sends a clear message that federal law enforcement in Arizona is committed to pursuing justice for children,” Courchaine said in the announcement. “Every child deserves to be protected.”
