Tucson fire crews rescue sleeping man from restaurant fire
A man sleeping in an abandoned restaurant in Tucson was rescued thanks to the quick response from fire crews after the building went up in flames.
PHOENIX – A man sleeping in an abandoned restaurant in Tucson was rescued thanks to the quick response from fire crews after the building went up in flames Thursday morning.
The Tucson Fire Department is currently investigating the cause of the fire that broke out at the intersection of Balboa Avenue and Grant Road.
Crews were dispatched to the location after they received reports of heavy black smoke billowing from the building.
Upon arriving, firefighters acted fast once they realized there was a male asleep inside.
A member of the Tucson Fire Department captured the firefighters efforts to extinguish the blaze on video, posting it to the department’s Facebook page.
Flames could be seen coming from the roof of the building in the video, with fire crews rushing in to take control.
The man found inside of the building was treated by paramedics on scene.
