A spokesman for Phoenix Fire said one person in the light-rail accident near 16th and Washington streets was taken to a hospital in serious but stable condition.

The upturned semi blocked all but one lane of traffic.

Heavy-duty tow trucks were dispatched to get the vehicle upright again.

The freeway lanes reopened around 8:30 a.m.
