Phoenix police investigating after human remains found on Tovrea Castle property

PHOENIX – Phoenix police are investigating after human remains were found on the Tovrea Castle property on Thursday, authorities said.

Just before noon, officers responded to a call regarding a dead body located near 50th and Van Buren streets.

After arriving, officers learned that a demolition crew was preparing to demo an older home in the area when human remains were found.

Detectives have since taken over the investigation, while the Maricopa County Medical Examiner’s Office is also working to identify the person and the manner of death.

No other information was made available.

The investigation remains ongoing.
