Topgolf Live turning Sun Devil Stadium into driving range this fall

PHOENIX – There won’t be any football at Sun Devil Stadium this fall, but there will be golf.

Topgolf Live will transform the Arizona State University venue into a cavernous, high-tech driving range Dec. 10-13.

Tickets run from $55 to $70 plus fees for standard admission and $130 to $145 for a premium package, depending on the day and time slot, and went on sale last week.

Standard tickets are good for one hour in a designated bay, which will be shared with others if the entire bay isn’t purchased at once for the time slot.

Premium tickets include the hour of play plus a hat, a Topgolf membership card, a $10 Topgolf discount card, two drink tickets and access to an exclusive check-in line.

Twenty-six bays will be set up on the Tempe stadium’s concourse level, and golfers will take aim at glowing targets on the field 60-140 yards away.

Computerized tracking technology will determine scoring.

Organizers are planning the following safety measures to address the risk of spreading coronavirus:

• Temperature checks for anyone entering the event area.
• Social distancing throughout the venue.
• Disinfecting golf clubs, tables and hitting bays between every tee time.
• Washing golf balls after play and before re-use.
• Hand sanitizer throughout the venue.

The Pac-12 Conference, which includes ASU, canceled its entire fall sport season, including football, because of the COVID-19 pandemic.

The Sun Devil Stadium event will take place one year after Topgolf Live set up shop for four days at Chase Field in downtown Phoenix.

Topgolf has three permanent metro Phoenix locations in Scottsdale, Gilbert and Glendale.
