Three WWII planes touch down in Scottsdale for weekend show

PHOENIX — Three World War II-era planes landed in Scottsdale on Friday as part of a nationwide tour.

A Boeing B-17 Flying Fortress, a Consolidated B-24 Liberator and a North American P-51 Mustang will be at Scottsdale Airport from April 10-12.

Organizer Hunter Chaney with the Collings Foundation said the B-24 is the last of its kind still capable of taking to the skies, and the B-17 is one of just eight worldwide still flying.

Enthusiasts can tour the planes. Admission is $12 for adults and $6 for children. World War II veterans will not be charged.

Flights in the planes start at $450 per person.
