Three dead in West Valley traffic collision

A collision that killed three men has closed the intersection at 59th Avenue and Indian School Road until approximately 11 a.m. Saturday, according to Phoenix Police.

At 2 a.m. Saturday morning, police responded to the scene after a black SUV ran a red light heading westbound on Indian School and collided with a white passenger car going northbound on 59th, according to Phoenix Police spokesman James Holmes.

The three men in the car, who have not yet been identified, were pronounced dead on the scene, while the driver of the SUV suffered minor injuries. The passenger of the SUV also suffered minor injuries and was taken to the hospital.

Police are investigating whether the driver of the black SUV was impaired.
