Thomas Rhett, Old Dominion to perform at Waste Management Phoenix Open’s 16th hole

PHOENIX — There will be a different reason to cheer at the upcoming Waste Management Phoenix Open when two popular country music acts perform on the fairway of the famous 16th hole of the golf course.

Thomas Rhett and Old Dominion will play on the course at TPC Scottsdale on the evening of Feb. 5, the Saturday before the 87th annual golf tournament gets underway.

A stage will be built in the middle of the fairway for the new event, dubbed the “Concert at the Coliseum.”

“We’re beyond excited to open the doors early and kick off Waste Management Phoenix Open week with a one-of-a-kind concert at the iconic 16th hole,” chairman Michael Golding said in a press release.

“We’ve all seen the energy fans bring to cheer on the PGA TOUR players at the 16th hole. We can’t wait to see and feel that buzz at night for Thomas Rhett and Old Dominion.”

Old Dominion will be onstage first at 5 p.m. followed by Thomas Rhett performs at 6:30 p.m.

Tickets for the concert go on sale Nov. 1 at 9 a.m. and start at $150. Some all-inclusive suites will also be made available for the shows.

Old Dominion, Grammy-nominated in 2020, previously performed at the Birds Nest in 2019 and headlined Country Thunder Arizona 2021 on Friday.

Four-time Grammy nominee Thomas Rhett most recently played in the Valley in June 2018, according to setlist.fm.

The 2022 Waste Management Phoenix Open will take place Feb. 7-13.
