Thanksgiving week brings cooler temperatures to Phoenix

PHOENIX – If you’re planning to host your Thanksgiving celebration outside in Arizona this week, the weather forecast is in your favor.

Cooler temperatures are in the forecast across Phoenix and in the high country for the holiday week ahead.

The seven-day forecast from the National Weather Service shows the week will start with a mild 80 degrees on Monday in Phoenix, which is nearly 10 degrees above average for this time of year.

Throughout the week, temperatures will continue to fall into the 70s.

On Thanksgiving, the high is projected to be 73 degrees.

By Friday, Phoenicians can expect a high temperature of 68 degrees.

The cooler temperatures come after Phoenix hit a handful of daily heat records last week. Phoenix hit daily heat records on Monday and Tuesday with a high of 92 and again on Wednesday with a high of 88 degrees.

For those headed to the high country for the holiday, the weather is expected to be sunny with a high of 48 degrees, according to the National Weather Service.

In Flagstaff, the daily high temperatures are expected to stay in the high 40s to low 50s for most of the week before falling off. There’s also a slight chance of rain and snow showers late on Thanksgiving Day and into Friday, which could spell good news for those looking to hit the slopes.
