Tempe’s Huss Brewing releases IPA to benefit firefighter memorial

PHOENIX — A metro Phoenix brewery has released a special India Pale Ale to benefit a group that pays tribute to fallen Arizona firefighters.

Huss Brewing Co., which is based in Tempe and also has a Phoenix taproom, is using its Fire Station 2 IPA to raise money for the Arizona Fallen Fire Fighters & Emergency Paramedics Memorial Commission.

It’s the fourth year Huss has brewed up a firefighter charity beer.

A release party was held last week at the Phoenix location at Camelback Road and Central Avenue.

Firefighters were involved throughout the IPA’s production at the Tempe brewery, Huss said in a press release.

“I am extremely grateful that we are brewing a beer for our everyday heroes and am so excited to drink a beer with them, for them,” Huss’ Erin Deuble said in the release.

In addition to selling its own pints, Huss is selling kegs of the beer to bars and restaurants, with a portion of the proceeds going to the charity group.

The commission worked to get a memorial built at Wesley Bolin Plaza outside the state Capitol in 2016.
